BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (February 11, 2007) – The Northeastern Supply Company, a leading regional distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, water systems and hardware products, will continue its many years of sponsorship of NASCAR Busch Series teams by announcing an affiliation in 2007 with driver J.J. Yeley and Phoenix Racing.
The #1 Miccosukee Gaming & Resorts Chevrolet will be supported by Northeastern Supply for the second consecutive season after receiving sponsorship from Northeastern Supply in 2006 for driver Jason Keller early in the season and then veteran Mike Wallace for the final 27 races.
The 2007 Busch Series campaign marks the 14th consecutive season of sponsorship by the Baltimore-based company that has been a leader in its industry for decades and conducts its business throughout Maryland and Delaware, and in portions of Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Other than the teams with which Keller and Wallace competed, the Northeastern Supply Company logo has graced the race cars of such other notable Busch Series drivers over the years as Kenny Wallace, Phil Parsons, Hank Parker, Jr., Sterling Marlin, Kevin Lepage and Tim Fedewa.
“I have heard a lot from team members about how great a sponsor that the Northeastern Supply Company has been, and I am excited about having the opportunity to make that relationship even stronger in 2007,” said Yeley, the full-time driver of the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet of Joe Gibbs Racing on the NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit.
“My own personal goal by driving a full-time Busch Series program for Phoenix Racing is that it will maintain my passion to race as often as I can while honing my skills on many of the race tracks where I will run my Cup car. I also want to help Phoenix Racing maintain its position as one the Busch Series’ top independent teams. I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing full-time in both Series in 2007,” Yeley added.
Since its initial season of NASCAR involvement in 1994, the Northeastern Supply Company has grown from six branches to 30 and continues to use its NASCAR programming to bolster relationships with its customers.
“Entertaining our customers, who remain excited about our NASCAR involvement, is what our program is all about,” said Steve Cook, President/CEO of Northeastern Supply. “Our employees have always been strong supporters of our sponsorship, and as long as our customers remain loyal to us and to our marketing efforts, the racing community will continue to see the Northeastern Supply Company logo on a Busch Series race car,” Cook added.
The company will maintain an associate level sponsorship position with the #1 car in all 35 races in 2007 and has plans to again enhance the involvement at races in markets where larger customer programs will be implemented.
The #1 Miccosukee Gaming & Resorts/Northeastern Supply Company race car, which was a Dodge in 2006, raced to two top five, four top 10 and 15 top 15 finishes last season with Keller and Wallace behind the wheel. Moving to Chevrolets this coming season is expected to improve the team’s overall performance.
