Why American Standard HVAC?

The strength of American Standard HVAC quality is put to the test in Systems Extreme Environmental Test Lab, environmental testing facility. This lab tests equipment from -35 degrees to 135 degrees. In tests tough enough to fry the competition, major components undergo accelerated conditions of thermal, electrical, and mechanical extremes, in 16-week testing increments. ONLY the strong survive!

Heat transfer is a critical factor in heating and cooling efficiency. Every air conditioner or heat pump has an outdoor heat transfer component, commonly referred to as an outdoor coil. In the summer, heat is removed from the home and transferred to the outside air by this outdoor coil. In the winter, a heat pump captures heat in the outdoor air and uses it to warm the home. The quality of the outdoor coil determines how efficiently this process occurs.

Conventional heating and cooling systems do not come on or turn off until the room temperature has gone far past the thermostat setting. The result is the uncomfortable temperature and humidity swings that many homeowners, unfortunately, are far too familiar with. But with American Standard’s higher efficiency variable speed systems with Comfort-R™settings, homeowners can enjoy enhanced year-round comfort in every room of the home. The Comfort-R™ blower control program, selected by the installer and based on user preferences, takes homeowners into an entirely new comfort zone. Comfort-R™ works by ramping up airflow so a home gets warmer or cooler faster. During cooling, the ICM motor ramps up slowly, moving air slowly across the coil and giving the coil a chance to cool. The motor then ramps up to 80 percent where it stays for 7.5 minutes.

Selecting a high efficiency air conditioning system adds up to big monthly savings. While the initial investment may be higher, consumers save on your bills for years to come. It’s simple, really. The higher the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating for an air conditioner or heat pump, the more the user can save on utility bills.
