Microsoft Training Program
Northeastern Employees Embrace After-Hours Computer Training
Northeastern employees who are interested in learning and mastering Microsoft
computer applications software are now able to do so at no cost through a
special after-hours Microsoft training program being offered by Northeastern
Supply.
“The program is available to all Northeastern employees,” shares Darlene
Alban, Administrative Assistant. “Employees can sign up for classes in Microsoft
Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Windows 98 - whatever they would like. The
classes are being taughŠ by trainers from Answer Quest Technologies Inc. and are
limited to 12 employees per session, which consists of three two-hour
classes.”
“The response has been phenomenal,” shares Darlene. “The staff has been
excited about this opportunity and are very willing to use their personal time
to improve their computer skills.”
Darlene reports that in just three months, more than 63 employees have
participated in this program and the enrollment is continuing to grow. Each
class begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m. In addition to the training,
employees also enjoy a light dinner.
“Being computer literate is essential to remain competitive in the
workplace,” notes Darlene. “We are very pleased that our employees are willingly
investing their time and are learning ways to more efficiently handle business
here at Northeastern. It helps the employees, it helps the company, and it helps
our customers. It’s a win-win-win situation.”
