Northeastern's new credit manager, Lori Everson, is enjoying an opportunity that few people experience.
She has an opportunity to work alongside her predecessor, Ron Wernsdorfer, for several months prior to his retirement on December 31, 2000.
"I'm really excited about being on board at Northeastern and I'm enjoying the opportunity to work with Ron," shares Lori.
"Although I have more than 14 years of experience in the credit and distribution industries, it is true that all companies have their own personalities and their own way of doing business.
Working alongside Ron is making the transition much easier."
Both Ron and Lori find working at Northeastern to be an exciting challenge.
When Ron came on board as Credit Manager in May 1995, Northeastern had just opened its tenth branch location in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Today, Northeastern has 19 branch locations and management is continuing to look to new opportunities.
"I've been in this business for 35 years," notes Ron, "It's been great.
I've especially enjoyed working at Northeastern.
The staff has done a great job and our sales have been strong.
Managing credit is a big part of what makes this company successful.
It's a fast-track industry - things happen very quickly."
Lori agrees, "I feel very fortunate to be a part of a company that is growing and I'm looking forward to being a part of that growth and taking Northeastern to the next level of service.
I'm fortunate to have a great staff in place.
They do a great job."
Working with Lori are Credit Specialists Joann Brown, who has been a member of the Northeastern team for 25 years, Dixie Jones, who has been on board for 6 years, and Cora Otero, who bring years of experience to the team.
Lori, and her husband Russell, have two daughters, Coral, 16, and Amber, 13.
They reside in Pasadena, Maryland.
As his final weeks at Northeastern wind down, Ron is looking forward to his retirement.
He and his wife, Mary Lou, live in White Marsh, Maryland.
They have one daughter, Donna, and a granddaughter, Becky, who is currently in her junior year at Virginia Tech.
Ron, who has worked in the distribution industry for more than 35 years, has a quiet cabin awaiting him, along with pleasant days on the golf course, and the luxury of being able to do absolutely nothing.
