Jacuzzi: Making A Difference Since 1915

Jacuzzi Bros. boasts an interesting history that began in 1915. It is a history that distinguishes Jacuzzi from any other manufacturer in the water systems industry. With over 60 original patents and a record of continuous improvements, this company has proven that it is one of the industry's leading innovators.

Jacuzzi began as a manufacturer of propellers in the San Francisco Bay area in 1915 and flourished throughout World War I as a supplier for the U.S. Air Force. When the end of the war brought a sharp reduction in the demand for props, the company turned to aircraft design. In 1921, only one year later, Jacuzzi received national acclaim by building the first fully enclosed, multi-passenger cabin monoplane ever flown in America. That same year, however, the Jacuzzi family lost their interest in aviation after one of the brothers was killed during a test flight.

In 1925, Rachelle Jacuzzi forever changed the course of the company. His invention of the jet pump not only set Jacuzzi Bros. on the path to worldwide success, but also revolutionized the pump business almost overnight.

Soon after, Jacuzzi Bros. began expanding its product lines to make a wide variety of water system pumps and also expanded into the swimming pool equipment market. Throughout the years, the company has continued to develop many innovative products, including the first deep well self-priming centrifugal, the AquaGenie, the jet charger, and the deep well injector. Jacuzzi's most recent development was the incomparable SandHandler submersible pump. Its ceramic seal makes it the only submersible in the industry to handle abrasives without losing performance or locking up. This development marked the first innovation in submersible pumps since plastic partswere introduced in the 1950's.

Today, as a result of a move in 1963 to accommodate more centralized distribution, Jacuzzi Bros.' international headquarters is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The company operates on 43 acres in a 250,000 square foot manufacturing complex and employs approximately 230 people. In addition to sales in all 50 states, Jacuzzi Bros. also has sales in 40 foreign countries.

Not only does Jacuzzi Bros. serve as a manufacturing and distribution center for some of the most innovative water systems and pool equipment products on the market, but it also houses a progressive, innovative team of employees committed to "Making a Difference."
